Journal Entry 3

According to Mr. Allman, Flash can be used for animation as well as web design and game creation to create seemingly random and yet closely organic scenes and animations. With my (limited) previous experience with flash that is information that isn't new to me, however from what we have covered in class it basically sums up what has been gone over.

I would prefer using vector based imagry for creating art and after i finish the basic design i can convert it to raster to do touch up work and finalize it, however i should make 100% sure that im satisfied with the vector image before rasterizing it primarily because it is a 1 way street. The best situation for using raster based imagry is primarily for precreated images or editing photographs and other items. Vector art has a slightly more specific purpose in that it is used for creating 2d images and animations.

My initial interest in flash was for school, primarily because it is a required class. During the first class it was mentioned that flash is a base tool for creating 2d animations and games, both of which are entertaining. Flash would also be a great program for creating a web portfolio to display other projects i complete.
